Bee Counted Health Inspectors

Bee Counted is a group of young people from across Greater Manchester who have trained to become Health Inspectors. Bee Counted inspections are underpinned by the national Young Inspectors Framework and the Greater Manchester Youth Agreement.

The GM Youth Agreement was created in 2018 following a number of co-production events held with young people and health professionals.

The agreement is adopted by the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, setting in stone a number of rights and expectations young people have of health provision in Greater Manchester.

The Bee Counted group undertakes an assessment based inspection using the commitments in the Youth Agreement.

From doctors, dentists, opticians and more young people work with health services to ensure that they are young person friendly.

Four young people and a youth worker carry out each inspection, the inspection team then work together to write a report and a set of recommendations for the service.
